My Teaching Philosophy has evolved as I have experienced more teaching and gained inspiration from my mentors. I believe it will continue to evolve as I progress in my career.

I believe that all students deserve a quality inclusive education that is engaging and inspiring and that will support their individual needs and abilities. As a teacher I see my students as unique individuals with diverse personalities, backgrounds and experiences that can enrich our classroom environment. I believe students should feel as though they are part of a community within their classroom and that they should feel safe, valued and respected within this community. In providing a learning environment that supports respect, responsibility and perseverance, I will work with students to establish expectations and guidelines to promote self-efficacy.

Teaching Philosophy

Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.

~ Aristotle

I believe my role, as an educator in the early years of schooling, is to not only
provide a solid academic and spiritual foundation, upon which students can
build a successful educational career, but to also instil a love of learning into each and every child that I teach, by providing them with an education that encourages them to explore, achieve, create and succeed. I strongly believe the early years of education are the foundation upon which a successful future is built, and this can be achieved by establishing quality literacy and mathematic skills and embedding them into the learning areas of the Australian Curriculum. Supporting students in making positive choices, maintaining good working habits, and promoting independence is also essential in preparing a solid foundation for their future.

My commitment to providing children with an inspiring education also relies on my dedication and enthusiasm, to continue collaborating with colleagues and educational professionals in order to further my own personal development and education.
